How the relay
actually works

Stranger scans your QR
The QR code contains only a signed token — no personal data. The scan page loads from our servers and identifies the tag category.

They pick a reason and hit send
WhatsApp opens with a pre-filled message to Tag-it's relay number. The stranger's own number is what appears in our system — but never shown to you.

We forward it to you anonymously
You receive a WhatsApp message from Tag-it's number — not the stranger's. The message includes their reason and the tag identifier.

You reply — we forward that too
Any reply you send to the Tag-it number gets relayed back to the stranger. The conversation continues through us until you close it.

Close when done
Reply CLOSE to end the conversation. The session expires automatically after 24 hours of inactivity. No history is stored beyond what's needed to relay messages.
